Sonification (Max MSP)
The Mer de Glace (‘Sea of Ice’) is an valley glacier located
on the northern slopes of the Mont-Blanc massif in the French Alps.
The evolution of glaciers is one of the important indicators
for situating climate variability and trends over the last century.
Data (from 1907 to 2020): mass balance, retreat of the front, altitude profiles (U, Trelaporte, Echelets, Montenvers and Mottets.)
Data from GLACIOCLIM (the GLACIers, a CLIMat Observatory),
a national service of observation aimed at ensuring long-term monitoring of the glaciers of the Alps,
the Andes and the Antarctic.
